During the 2020 pandemic I stayed home and still oversaw a trio of Google UK projects.

Culminating in the traditional ‘Year in Search’ film using real Google search trends to tell the story of this most challenging of years.

In the middle of lockdown we visited a dozen small UK businesses (remotely!) to see how they were using Google Maps to keep customers safe and informed as opening hours, booking availability or delivery options changed by the day.

And the year began with a film for a special 19:57pm ITV ad break just before the 2nd #clapforourcarers.
Which led to versions that said thanks to everyone helping on the Covid front line in six more European countries.
